Product Evangelist / Visual Effects Software (Remote)

Our Academy-award winning products Mocha Pro and Silhouette play a significant role in television and feature film productions. As a Product Evangelist, you will champion our products and provide an essential bridge between the end user and product management. You will be a public face for our products; responsible for creating compelling video training content, helping customers troubleshoot shots, and representing Boris FX at events and customer meetings.
Must Have:
- Must speak English fluently.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a professional VFX role.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to use Mocha Pro, Silhouette or Sapphire as an expert/power user.
- Deep understanding of motion tracking, rotoscoping, digital paint and compositing using at least one of the following applications: Nuke, Fusion, Flame, After Effects.
- A passion to share your knowledge and have experience as a trainer, mentor, or content creator.
- The ability to create and edit high-quality, charismatic video training and participate in live streams.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Possess strong people skills, able to work with the Sales, Marketing, and Support teams to contribute to customer success.
Bonus Skills:
- Ideal candidate is already teaching other artists how and why to use Mocha and Silhouette.
- Experience with Sapphire plugins is a plus.
- If you have experience with 3D animation or camera tracking applications like C4D, Maya, Syntheyes or 3D Equalizer this is a plus.
- You enjoy learning new software.
- Ability to speak and publicly present in another language is a plus.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Be a public facing brand ambassador for our products in the visual effects market.
- Produce compelling video content including video tutorials and visual effects examples.
- Contribute to product success with the ability to test software and troubleshoot difficult shots for customers.

Research Engineer (UK)

We care about speed, quality and creativity. We’re looking for a motivated research engineer to help us move faster, scale larger, and create more amazing products.
You’d work as part of our small, geographically dispersed development group on Academy and Emmy Award winning visual effects software and make a significant impact on our company.
Currently our team is working remotely due to the pandemic but, in the long term, this full-time position can either be in our Guildford, UK office, remote from elsewhere in the UK, or a combination of the two. The position is also open to overseas candidates working remotely as an independent contractor. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role you will build on Mocha’s code base to devise new solutions to visual effects challenges using computer vision and artificial intelligence. You’ll incorporate the latest ideas from academia and extend them to deliver tools that allow our artists to produce incredible visual effects with less time and effort.
You will work on problems in motion tracking, scene reconstruction, inpainting, rotoscoping/segmentation and depth extraction among others, being the domain expert for computer vision in the team.
Although your primary focus will be R&D, high-quality implementation is very important. Working within a team of experienced software engineers, you will write production-quality code, fix bugs within your area of expertise, and participate in all aspects of our software development process using source control, code review and issue tracking tools.
Required Education and Experience
- PhD in a relevant area of computer vision, or a proven record of developing motion tracking algorithms in a commercial setting
- Excellent mathematical skills, especially linear algebra and graph theory
- In-depth understanding of projective geometry and non-linear optimisation techniques
- An ability to express your ideas in well written C++ is vital

This position is in our Boston, MA office. Salary commensurate with skills and experience.

- Write cool image-processing effects in C/C++ and CUDA
- Create UIs in Python/PyQt.

Affiliate Program Manager
